Seth & Craig of Wine Authorities - May 15th!

Local entrepreneurs Seth Gross & Craig Heffley will be cooking it up with the Home Fries Cookin' Team on opening day, May 15th!
Seth, aka Salamanzar, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (C.I.A.),a father of two and has a degree in Microbiology and Cell science. Craig, aka Grand Poobah, is a North Carolina native, wine educator, and a father of two with a degree in sculpture. Together, Seth and Craig own and operate the Triangle's favorite wine shop, Wine Authorities.

Chef Aaron Vandemark of Pancuito - July 17th!

Join local chef Aaron Vandemark at the Durham Farmers' Market on July 17th! Chef Vandemark is a graduate of Johnson and Wales culinary school and owner/chef of Pancuito Restaurant in Hillborough, North Carolina.
Chef Vandemark focuses on cooking with products raised in our area by
great farmers that keep the land and their animals healthy and
happy. His menu changes weekly, in response to what is growing in our local area and can be described as a mixture of Italian & Southern cuisines.
Aaron and his wife Aimee live in Hillsborough with their
newborn son, Henry, and their crazy dog Ivy. Stay tuned to see what Chef Vandemark will be cookin' up with the Durham Home Fries!!

Chef Justin Rakes of Four Square Restaurant -June 19th!

Local Chef Justin Rakes of Durham will be leading the Home Fries Cookin' Team on June 19th. Chef Rakes is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has recently been promoted to Executive Chef at Durham's Four Square Restaurant. Four Square is famous for a delicious menu that changes completely each month in response to what is seasonally available (not an easy feat!). Chef Rakes works closely with William Brinkley of Brinkley Farms and is a BIG fan of locally-raised pork! Stay tuned to see what Chef Rakes will be cookin' up with the Durham Home Fries!

Home Fries Cookin' Team Registration begins April 17th!

Come on out to the Durham Farmers' Market on April 17th to register for the Home Fries Cookin' Team - a class for kids age 9-13 who want to learn to cook with local food!
The Home Fries will meet the 3rd Saturday of each month, starting on May 15. Each class will be led by a different local chef who will teach the kids how to shop for local ingredients, how to follow a recipe, and basic cooking techniques, while having lots of fun in the process!
Classes will be held under a large canopy in the central lawn area and will begin at 10am and go until 11:30.
We encourage kids to sign up for more than one class. Each class will have a limit of 15 active participants. Participants and bystanders alike will get to enjoy the local food they've helped prepare that day and will be given a copy of the recipe to take home and cook for their family.
